Winco SST-8 Description

Great for simmering soups, stocks, and bulk vegetables, the Winco SST8 stock pot has a thick base, and because the diameter is relatively small and the sides are tall, this vessel preserves liquids to maximize flavor transfer. Made of stainless steel, the pot resists warping and streamlines cleaning. While stainless steel doesn’t heat up evenly, the tri-ply bottom has an aluminum core to enhance heat transfer. This pot is induction compatible, and a lid is included.

Solid performer

I bought this for stock, stews, and soups. It's a disc bottom construction, so extremes of temperature are best avoided. It's fairly rugged, fit and finish are very good, handles have 4 rivets each, it has a sturdy metal lid(rare these days), and it sits perfectly flat on my induction stove. It just won't take as much abuse as a fully clad pan would. Of course, those cost much more. This one's a real bargain, even at the new price point, and well suited to all but the most extreme challenges.
