Edlund EDV-1SS (10300) Description
The Edlund EDV-1SS Edvantage™ #1® manual can opener can endure back-to-back use, making it a good choice for medium-traffic kitchens. It boasts a large knob that has a comfortable grip so operators don’t get tired during extensive use, and the stainless steel base is durable enough to keep cans in place while withstanding common wear from loading and unloading cans. Edvancoat™ technology is built in throughout the unit to improve its strength over time. Lid removal is simplified with the four-sided knife; its structure folds metal efficiently to help reduce the need to replace knife parts over time. When it’s time for general cleaning or part updates, it can be disassembled without tools.

WOW :-) 304 Stainless Steel Base
As you can see the gap in the pic, this powerful magnet would travel an inch towards high carbon steel, but not even at hair's length on this one. Edlund could have gotten away with 430 stainless, but went all-out with the 304 grade, was totally surprised. I knew better than to buy a chrome plated steel base, wouldn't even install it for FREE! These SS base models can run you anywhere from 200-500 bucks. This particular model can easily be disassembled for proper cleaning or flipping the blade several times to get many years of performance. No more struggling with my arthritis or electrical openers that burn-up. Eating everything from cans now lol.
