Very good little knife at a great price

I like the 9900 series a lot; I bought the 5" petty knife a year ago, and recently got this paring knife to replace my old one, a Henckels. It didn't need any initial sharpening and has held its edge well so far. Nice nonslip grip, just like the petty knife. Unbeatable price for a knife this good.

This knife is a real joy.

Extremely nimble and it feels wonderful in my hand. Nice nonslip grip. Using it was a real revelation after many years with an old Cutco. Most Shun knives are excellent but very expensive. This 9900 series is high quality and quite affordable- reasonable price and free shipping, too. When I eventually replace my little Henckels paring knife it will most likely be with one from this line.

A very good little knife

This knife is a joy. Very nimble with a nice comfy handle and hard steel that stays sharp, which is especially important in this case because the edge is serrated. Shun quality and a screaming deal for a Shun knife, though it's branded Kershaw which I believe is Shun's parent company. A very good knife for a great price.

Big, but it works.

It's the only block for this knife set. It holds and displays the knives quite well, but it is bigger than expected, with a larger footprint on your countertop.

Love it!

This is my 2nd Shun knife and I absolutely love it. I love to cook, but I hate chopping and cutting things, until now. Now I go out of my way to use these knives because they are such a pleasure to use. I am already working on how to ask my husband for another one for our anniversary. Maybe if I promise to let him use it! ;-) Although they claim that it is dishwasher safe, I woud never put these knives in the dishwasher!
