Paula Deen Lodge Cast Iron

Serve Up a Scare With Paula Deen’s Favorite "Cauldron" from Lodge

With the first few football games under our belt, the pumpkin beverages making their debut, and the kiddos back to school, it’s time to start planning for all the fall festivities. Luckily, Paula Deen helped us out this year with a nod to one of our favorite brands: Lodge Cast Iron and its small cast-iron kettle.

If you happen to be standing in line at the grocery this week, be sure to pick up a copy of her magazine, Cooking with Paula Deen and check out the festive Halloween party ideas on pages 61 through 70. She has everything covered from crispy prosciutto broomsticks to purple potato soup.

Best of all, she even tossed in a few ideas for plating through the season. Her purple potato soup is served up in a Lodge cast-iron cauldron – which is available at KaTom! We’re certainly thrilled she added it to her table and know it would make a great addition to your own.

Lodge Cast Iron is proudly made in America in the great state of Tennessee. Naturally, we’re a little partial since we’re practically neighbors with the factory, but it’s their 100 plus years of quality production that keeps us loyal to the brand. This particular piece of cast iron is heat-enhanced through a proprietary process that allows the serving piece to be run through the dishwasher – quite an upgrade from the hand-wash-only versions.

Though the small Lodge kettle is ideal for a Halloween inspired meal, it also makes a great addition to the table throughout the year. Try baking cornbread or personal cobblers in it, serve up a hearty side dish, use it to roast veggies, or impress guests with a warm brownie and ice cream dessert.
