Beer Pitchers
Beer pitchers enable your servers to keep glasses full and customers happy without unnecessary trips back and forth between the table and bar every time.
Glass & Plastic Beer Pitchers: What You Need to Know
Plastic or glass beer pitchers give your servers the ability to carry lots of beer (or any other beverage) to the table, rather than hauling multiple glasses to and from the spout. Different pitcher types bring different feels to your establishment – plastic options are cheaper and potentially more durable in case of drops, while glass pitchers are more elegant.
These pitchers are typically known as beer pitchers, but this is only a convention. Many operators use them to serve water, soda, or any other beverage that fits their menu. Some features, such as ridges along the outer perimeter, imply a beer pitcher rather than a water pitcher, but for any operator on a tight budget, these pitchers can serve multiple purposes.
Common Questions About Beer Pitchers
Do I need glass or plastic beer pitchers?
The biggest choice in this category is between plastic and glass. Plastic is the most common choice, as it's cheaper and more resistant to breakage, while glass brings a touch of elegance that plastic can't match. Glass is also more durable in some ways. Glass doesn't discolor the way plastic does and is likelier to be dishwasher safe, saving you time during cleaning. The big benefit of glass, though, is the classiness it brings your drink service. Heavier, clearer, and more expensive, glass beer pitchers fit better than plastic options in higher-end establishments. If the rest of your drinkware is glass, you'll probably want to add glass beer pitchers to match – however, if you use lots of plastic in your establishment anyway, there's little reason to invest in glass pitchers.
Of course, if you only have a small amount of capital to spend on beer pitchers, then glass might not be an option. Our selection also contains pitchers by cases of 6 or 12, as well as individually, which gives you an economical way to add beer pitchers to your service.
How do I maintain a beer pitcher?
Many of our pitchers are dishwasher safe, so cleaning them is as simple as adding them to your existing warewashing routine. Certain plastics can withstand the high heat of a commercial dishwasher, while others aren't rated to withstand them. If you frequently use a commercial dishwasher, then a dishwasher-safe pitcher probably is your best choice. If your establishment washes everything in a three-compartment sink, then any option will fit in, if less efficiently.
Should I get clear or amber-colored pitchers?
Most of our pitchers are clear, so servers and customers can see the beverage inside easier. Amber-colored pitchers traditionally are used for beer and don't suit water or juice, as it would present them in a tinged, almost dingy color. However, if you've got a traditional pub aesthetic, amber beer pitchers may be your best fit. Amber-colored plastic shows wear and tear less than clear options. If you'll use it for non-beer drinks, clear coloration is preferable.
