Southbend SCX-2S-6-6 Description
The Southbend SCX-2S-6-6 steamer and steam kettles comes with a cabinet base, while a steam coil boiler in the cabinet doors creates food-safe steam. This boiler creates steam using an external steam and water source, so steam flows through coils in a bath of water. To ensure proper operation, automatic controls maintain the correct water level, and users can check this level at any time with the water gauge.
For durability, this Southbend SCX-2S-6-6 convection steamer and kettles is made of 304 and 316 stainless steel, which are highly resistant to rust. Two 6-gallon steam kettles that can cook large batches of sauce or soup are included with the cabinet, and a swing faucet is mounted to the deck, to ease adding water to the kettles. Because each kettle and steamer section has its own controls, many kinds of foods can be cooked at one time.
Depending on the pan height, as many as 12 full-size pans can fit into the steamer, while steam flows around the compartment and evenly cooks food in the pans. Users can set the 60-minute timer and work on other things while the food cooks, as an alarm sounds as the timer expires, and steam production stops when a steamer door opens.
