The Libbey 8551 wine glass features a short stem that facilitates storage and is ideal for serving small tastings of wine. It's constructed of clear glass and has a capacity of 10 1⁄2 ounces. To lengthen its lifespan in high-volume environments, it is designed with a chip-resistant Safedge® rim.

Poor quality control (manufacturer, not distributor)

I purchase hundreds of these glasses every year for use in wine courses. The last cases we have used are noticeably more flawed. There are always some glasses with bubbles, bumps or sharp spots on the rim, but this time, we saw a larger proportion with problems. I am not sure if this was bad luck, & I will try once more before finding a different manufacturer, but this was a disappointment.
