To provide fresh herbs and microgreens year-round, the Carter-Hoffmann GC12 GardenChef® growing cabinet uses an automated growing system that establishes optimal light and watering cycles to ensure growth for a variety of seeds. The two-zone interior features 18-inch T5 high-output fluorescent growing lights that produce maximum reflection and include light-diffusing shields. The cabinet uses an automatic filtered pump/aerator irrigation mechanism to water plants consistently, while its water reservoir refills automatically to reduce hands-on tasks. A fan circulates air gently throughout the zones. Though the touchscreen digital controls include several pre-programmed default settings, operators can program light and water cycles to accommodate specific plants.

Four 10-inch by 20-inch flats can be stored on the Carter-Hoffmann GC12 growing cabinet's rollers, which pull out for direct product access. Because both doors are glass, operators can view plants clearly to check inventory and manage growth. The doors' magnetic gaskets ensure the cabinet closes properly, while the full-length handle provides a comfortable, ergonomic grip. Designed to fit beneath a counter, this stainless steel unit measures 66³⁄₄ inches wide by 28¹⁄₄ inches deep by 33¹⁄₂ inches high, and it's mounted on 3-inch-diameter swivel casters to facilitate maneuvering.
