Hoshizaki C-80BAJ Description
If the surrounding air is 70 degrees Fahrenheit and incoming water is 50 degrees, the Hoshizaki C-80BAJ undercounter ice maker produces 80 pounds of cubelet ice per day. The self-contained refrigeration system is air cooled and breathes through the front, and the power can be turned off and on through a switch that is accessible without removing the panel.
The storage bin on the Hoshizaki C-80BAJ undercounter ice maker holds as much as 22 pounds of ice for later use. To support cleanup, the water circuit can be disassembled and scrubbed inside. This unit uses environmentally friendly R134A refrigerant to create cold temperatures and turn water into ice. Designed to slide underneath a countertop, this ice maker is 34 inches tall. Its sides require zero clearance, so the unit can be installed flush against walls or in counters.

Good product, frustrating packaging
"This machine replaced a Scotsman 60, it's not much noisier than that one was and it's only when making ice. It started making ice almost immediately and it makes a lot quickly. The most frustrating part was removing the protective plastic wrap, to do properly you must disassemble panels to remove the wrap completely. It's the main reason for not giving it 5 stars. I will try to update the review after the unit runs for a few months and we have more experience with it."

Broken, broken and broken again
"What a disappointment...After installing our unit, the drain seal failed flooding and damaging our new kitchen floor, Hoshizaki's response.. call your home insurance company. It has run for 5 weeks, been repaired 3 times, now waiting for technician again for repair number 4...unit is louder than any other appliance in our home and can be heard from every room in the house...we are looking into other options because of frequent failure, high noise level, and poor follow through by Hoshizaki. The worst purchase of our kitchen remodel...we will likely toss unit and replace with another manufacturer (Hoshizaki has refused to exchange this new unit for one that does not break)"
