While the Manitowoc Ice K00519 LuminIce® II growth inhibitor's UVC germicidal class light sterilizes air that passes by, its UVV light creates photo plasma gas to slow the growth of viruses, bacteria, and fungi in the Manitowoc's NEO® U-series undercounter ice machines' foodzones. This unit can be mounted inside the ice machine to save space in compact areas. It quietly operates 24 hours a day to minimize the frequency of labor-intensive cleanings. To simplify maintenance, it doesn't require additional chemicals, though its UV bulb should be changed once a year to maintain its effectiveness.
