Made of cast iron, the Lodge L8SK3 seasoned skillet supports heavy-duty use and retains heat well, so it can be used for frying, braising, broiling, baking, and grilling. Because this material is heavy, a helper handle is built into the pan, opposite the standard long handle. It can be used in ovens, on induction and range tops, and over campfires, and after use, the skillet should be washed by hand and seasoned with oil.
