I would buy this product over and over as needed.
One of the best all around pans anyone could own.
A taste of yesteryear!
Katom.com carries quality products and makes those products available at a very reasonable price. This combination is rare in today's world. The memory of my Grandmother's cooking in cast iron utensils prompted me to buy this item. I also purchased a duplicate pan for two of my Granddaughters who were out on their own. Lodge needs to smooth the inside of the skillet in order to earn a 5 star rating.
Disappointed in the non-stick claim
I have only had my skillet about a week, but everything I try to cook sticks. I know it was supposed to be pre-seasoned, but I seasoned it again before the first use, which was to cook bacon. If all things, the bacon stuck. I tried frying potatoes using vegetable oil; they stuck. I can only hope that this will improve with time and use, but right now I am greatly disappointed. I would return it, but the cost of the original shipping, plus the cost of return shipping, is more than I paid for the skillet.
The best cornbread skillet going!
This skillet is the perfect skillet for making cornbread. It is easy to season, clean, and maintain the seasoning on. The only recommendation I might make is for Lodge to buff the interior of the skillet to improve the non-stick surface a bit!
Durable skillet for making cornbread
Would have given 3 1/2 stars if I could because the failure of Lodge to polish the inside of the skillet makes it less non-stick than it should be. They need to go back and look at some of the older cast-iron skillets made by Wagner and Griswold to see how cast-iron skillets are supposed to be made.

Recent purchase
I purchased the skillet because of its durability thinking that it was more affordable to purchase online but the time I got it here (Freeport, Bahamas)the price was the same as if purchased here.

What a wonderful product!!! I absolutely love my Lodge 9" cast iron skillet. I use it to bake my cornbread in. I have several other Lodge cast iron skillets, but the 9" is the perfect size and my cornbread turns out great every time. My Granny and my Mother used cast iron skillets in their kitchens. And I have passed on the tradition to my daughter as well. No kitchen should be with out them!!!
