To display baked goods with opposing storage requirements in a single footprint, the Federal SGR5048DZ High Volume bakery case features a dual-zone design with a refrigerated left side and non-refrigerated right. The refrigeration system operates with R513a refrigerant to maintain average internal temperatures between 38 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit. To preserve product moisture, the oversized coil and low-velocity fan system generate humidity. Operators can monitor case temperatures with the thermometer and make adjustments with the temperature controls. This self-contained system includes a condenser air filter, condensate evaporator, and an insulated, rust-resistant evaporator coil compartment. To simplify maintenance, all refrigeration components are accessible from the back of the unit.

To enhance product displays, this dessert case features four tempered thermopane glass sides, interior LED merchandise lights, and a sloped front. Each section features four display levels comprised of a white, scratch-resistant display deck and three white wire shelves that can be raised, lowered, or tilted to accommodate changes in inventory. Because it's a full-service model, staff must retrieve customer purchases through the two rear sliding glass doors. This employee-facing design can also reduce shoplifting and product contamination risks.

The Federal SGR5048DZ bakery display case measures 50³⁄₁₀ inches wide by 35³¹⁄₁₀₀ inches deep by 48 inches high and can be arranged alongside similar merchandisers for continuity. Its resilient steel base sports a black laminate finish and trim to match other pieces of equipment, and for stabilization on irregular flooring, its leg levelers can be adjusted. To simplify cleaning, the front glass can be tilted out, and the rear doors, shelf lights, shelf supports, and shelves can be removed.
