Vollrath 1853 Description
This Vollrath 1853 Oyster King™ shucker opens clams and oysters in a single, safe stroke. The product can be set on the base plate, which has grooves to hold the product steady. Users should place the shell with the seam facing up, and as the handle is lowered, the blade enters the shell. Made of steel, the blade is durable and supports high-volume applications.

Great product. Makes oyster eating easier.
To shuck or not to shuck
Specifically for clams, the positioning of the wedge is crucial. There is somewhat of a learning curve for this or else the shells shatter. I really like this product.
This shucker is amazing!
We opened 6 dozed in less than 15 minutes! Some were very difficult (fresh) to open but using a small rubber mallet did the trick! I strongly recommend this to the serious oyster shucker:)
It works
Although not stated it works well breaking apart clusters
works as promised, but...
It is so easy to use, works as promised, but I had a lot of problems with broken shell in the oyster. Not good for teeth!
Works Well
This is a vast improvement over the traditional method of shucking oysters. Much safer, faster, and easier.
