Groen TDBC-40C Description
The Groen TDBC-40C tilting kettle has a 40-quart (10-gallon) capacity that is ideal for high-volume batch cooking on the countertop. When the unit is heated, water in its jacket—which covers the lower two-thirds of the kettle body—turns into self-contained steam to eliminate the need for an external generator or boiler. It cooks food with this steam, a method that requires less effort than cooking on a stock pot range, but also provides a more even heat.
With a manual tilt mechanism, the Groen TDBC-40C steam kettle is operated using a crank, which provides more precise control over the tilt motion than a hand lever, emptying cooked food into a container or pan as deep as 4 inches underneath the welded-in pouring lip. Shaped to smoothly direct food into the container below, the pour lip reduces dripping and product waste, and while rims on kettles like this one often get dented, this unit has a reinforced design that protects it, preventing the steam pressure from fluctuating. A faucet bracket is included with the kettle so users can add a single- or double-pantry faucet for a constant supply of water.
