"There's absolutely no reason to spend big $$$ on an imported carbon steel pan. This one is the real deal. It's a BEAST; super thick (3mm?), heavy, and smooth. The handle is long enough that it only gets hot after long cook sessions. It seasoned beautifully in the oven and is as non-stick as Teflon. Make no mistake, this is a big, heavy pan rivaling the quality of the best. The thick, heavy bottom hasn't even hinted at warping after high heat searing. American Metalcraft carbon steel pans are the best kept secret in cookware. RECOMMENDED BUY."

"I'm a retired chef after 44 yrs..Great pan! Seasons up ready to use in 20 mins. Can't beat the price@ 51% off. Tip on how I season the pan, it's fast. First wash good in hot soapy water rinse and dry. On gas or electric stove heat the pan on high until the bottom of the band inside turns blue black color the complete bottom. Well the pans Heating peel four potatoes saving the peels. Add 1/4 cup table salt, potatoes peels, and 1/4 cup veg. Oil to hot pan cook med high until peels are black. Rinse out while hot in hot water only no soap! Dry, lightly oil top to boottom,now pan is ready slice the potatoes you peeled about 3/16 of inch thick heat pan med.high put enough oil cover bottom of pan, fry until golden brown. Chef Blake"
