"As others have mentioned, these bowls are made with a major design flaw. There's a hole in the handle, and it's nearly impossible to keep water from getting inside the walls of the handle. It definitely happens in the dishwasher, and it also happens no matter how careful you are with the handwashing. You'll find little puddles in your cabinet where they're stored as the water slowly leaks out. We're not just talking about one or two droplets, it's a substantial of water- and very hard to get out. It's unfortunate, because these are very attractive looking bowls and a nice size. Before writing this review, I called Katom to see if they had any suggestions on ways to solve this problem. They had no interest in rectifying this or even giving me any suggestions on how to fix it myself. I would strongly warn anyone against purchasing these"

"The ceramic bowl itself is very nice. I use it for french onion soup, but I was very disappointed in the product, because of the false advertisement. It was advertised as 16 oz. bowls, but the bowl only holds a smidge over 10 oz., to the brim. I thought it actually held 16 oz. of liquid, but it does not. I would not recommend this to a friend, if they were looking for a 16 oz. bowl, because it is not. I would only recommend it, If they were looking for an 8 oz. bowl, which would leave enough room for the cheese on top, which would be about 10 oz., as the bowl actually is. It should be advertised as a 10 oz. bowl."

"I've been searching for bowls that were big enough to hold a good amount of soup and still have room for a crouton and lots of Guyere cheese piled on top. Plus they needed to be able to sustain high oven temperature under the broiler to melt the cheese. Finally, a handle helps in holding the bowl stable to get through the crusted melted cheese. These bowls meet all criteria plus they look great and we're reasonably priced."

"Love, love, love these onion soup bowls. Only reason I didn't award five stars is because of the small hole in handle allowing dishwasher water to get into handle and slosh around. Probably would not have happened if I hand washed them. Water does eventually dry up but I will still hand wash in the future. Classic bowls!"

"This is the perfect onion soup bowl I've been looking for. Large enough but not too large and the opening allows for the cheese to melt on the top of the soup. Some soup bowls have a rim which doesn't work for onion soup. I am so pleased with my purchase."

"The bowls are nice looking with the two toned brown. Handle is a nice touch. They looked a bit small but upon checking they do indeed hold 16 ounces. Have not used them as yet so I can't comment on how they work in the oven. Will update review if I can later.."
