Dexter Russell S5197 Description

The Dexter S5197 08030 Chinese chef knife looks similar to a cleaver, but it is designed to chop through soft skins of fruits, meats, and vegetables. The flat part of the blade easily presses garlic, lemons, and limes. The 2-inch-wide blade can be used to help scoop product from the cutting board into a pan. The blade is constructed of DEXSTEEL™, a high-carbon steel that resists staining. Walnut wood is used to make the natural-looking handle on the Dexter S5197 08030 Chinese chef knife.

"I have had this knife several years now and love it for cutting up veggies. In fact, I just purchased one for my daughter who loves to cook. When she visits I noticed that she always grabs for this knife to cut up veggies and thought it would be a nice addition to her knives."
