Nemco 9010 Description

For buffets, salad bars, and self-serve islands in grocery stores, the Nemco 9010 dipper-style cold condiment station's two 6-inch-deep wells accommodate four sixth-size plastic pans to sleekly present chopped vegetables, potato salad, coleslaw, salsa, or olives. Clear hinged lids cover these pans to protect against airborne particulates while simplifying product retrieval. The pans' corners are curved to streamline cleaning after use. While its angled top enhances food display, its black powder-coated surface provides a neutral backdrop and resists scratches and chips through daily use. This 17 7⁄8-inch-wide by 28-inch-deep by 11 3⁄4-inch-tall unit fits compact countertops and features a durable 430 stainless steel exterior.

To maintain temperatures between 32 and 41 degrees Fahrenheit in ambient settings, the Nemco 9010 cold condiment station is built with a 1⁄8-horsepower refrigeration-condensing unit that uses less refrigerant and energy than conventional units. Operators can monitor temperature with the digital display and modify the temperature with the simple-to-use electronic thermostatic control. Because this control is mounted in the back, it prevents inadvertent adjustment and deters tampering.

Very disappointed

The Nemco 9010 condiment chiller was unable to keep my condiments at the correct temperature. Even when the temperature was set as low as 23 deg F on the digital controller, the condiment temperatures were in the range of 42-45 degrees, after the condiments had been pre-chilled to the correct temperature (~ 37), and we waited for over 12 hours for the chiller to achieve the desired temperature. We noticed that only the top ~1.5 inches of the 6 inch deep wells were being cooled, as indicated by ice build up on the insides of the wells. I don't know if this is due to a defect, or it's by design. If it's by design, it's a terrible design.

KaTom's Response:

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience-we're sorry the chiller hasn't been performing as expected. The fact that your condiments were pre-chilled and still couldn't stay within safe temperature ranges after 12 hours is definitely concerning. Whether it's a design flaw or a defect, we understand how frustrating that is, especially in a commercial setting. Please consider reaching out to help@katom.com so we can look into this further and help determine next steps.
