Oblong shaped, not circular, and rough edges everywhere
I didn't get this for deep frying, I'm actually using it to hold a filter and I place another round sifter above it. Anyway, it would have worked much better if it was closer to a circular shape but it's far out from being circular. It is not pliable either so I can't bend it into shape. It also had rough sharp edges everywhere that I had to file down. Took a while to debut and clean before being able to use. Not impressed.
