Scotsman DCE33PA-1SSD Description
Featured in the Legacy series, the Scotsman DCE33PA-1SSD undercounter ice maker can produce as much as 30 pounds of gourmet ice a day. Because its storage bin can only collect 26 pounds of ice total, the unit's automatic stop/start function pauses production when the bin is full. The resulting cubes are odorless, flavorless, and have full clarity; furthermore, they melt slowly to not dilute served spirits or cocktails too quickly. For consistency, each cube measures 1-inch by 1 1⁄8 inches by 1 1⁄4 inches.
For efficient cooling, the Scotsman DCE33PA-1SSD undercounter ice machine utilizes R-134A refrigerant and has an air-cooled condenser. Its body is constructed of durable stainless steel, and for customization users can add Scotsman wood paneling, which isn’t included. To accommodate different floorplans, the machine's door is field reversable. Compatible with spaces without a direct floor drain, this 15-inch-wide by 22 13⁄16-inch-deep by 33 7⁄8-inch-high unit features a built-in drain pump with a 10-foot drain tube.

2nd unit in 4 yrs, should have learned from my first mistake
Best ice maker on the market
This is a replacement for the same ice maker purchased in 2012. Great performer!
I would not buy this machine again.
Bought and put in service February 2022. Stopped producing ice early June 2022. Yes it has been cleaned more than once. Can't get service rep that can figure it out. Scotsman has been responsive in trying to find service rep.
We own three and love them all!
This purchase was the third one we now own for our homes (2 with drain pumps) and 1 with gravity drain (pic attached). We were desperate to find another with pump included for our new home and found on KaTom's website JUST in time (you know how the supply chain is right now, huh?)! I MUST add a KUIDOS for Eric who helped us with the order and their shipping people who delivered it quickly and without any damage. Thank you KaTom Company!
I would not recommend this product
This is my first residential Scotsman and my last. The unit is very noisy and you have to run your own line thru the machine to the water valve. It only makes 8 cubes of ice every 30 minutes. This is supposed to be a residential ice maker but has metal feet with no protection and has scratched my wooden floor up something terrible. These machines are not made for the home owner. Stay away from Scotsman unless you put it out of sight and out of hearing distance.
Buyer Beware!
I've had this unit repaired more times than it's worth. As soon as I fix one problem, another arises. I could have bought two new ones... Now purchasing A replacement is out of the question not only because of its inflated price but because this is an unreliable and poorly made machine. I'm replacing with a GE...
My 5th Scotsman, boy was it a mistake
Previous units worked great - my first one was purchased over 30 years ago. This one had to be repaired twice and then replaced. It is much noisier than the ones I had before. Especially the drain pump. Even when it is just making ice, the noise is very objectionable. Ice quality is great.
NO, we are not happy with the unit so far.
It arrived on Monday, May 9 and was installed by a competent technician on Thursday, May 12. Ran for 10 minutes and began to make ice. then motor began to make loud noises and then quit. Would drain water from ice basket but made no more ice. A Scotsman appointed service company came out on May 19 and confirmed that motor was bad. Ordered a new one by phone then left. We have heard nothing from any source since. This is not a good way to treat long-time customers as this would be our fourth Scotsman unit. Please have some one contact us and tell us what is happening.
