Cambro ingredient bins are a convenient way to store large quantities of dry ingredients. For kitchens that go through substantial amounts of flour, sugar, rice, oats, or similar ingredients, it's important those ingredients be readily available in large amounts. Cambro bins support this demand, with large, one-piece builds, transparent lids, and four casters for transportation – two swivel and two fixed. While these bins are primarily used for dry ingredient storage, some are designed for specific food preparation tasks, such as brining meats and crisping vegetables. Should the bin be designed for use as a soak tank for cleaning flatware or a brining tank for meats, it will come with a built-in drain.

Cambro bins have capacities ranging from 21 to 42 1⁄2 gallons and clear flat or slant-top lids that slide back, enabling quick visual identification of (and access to) the bin's ingredients. Some Cambro flour bins also come with S-hooks to hang scoops (available separately) for accessibility and storage. Each bin is between 23 and 29 inches tall, easily fitting under most standard work tables.

Cambro flour bins are made of polyethylene – an FDA-approved material, which eliminates the need for liners – with lids made of highly durable polycarbonate. There is no assembly required, and the seamless plastic construction of each bin is rust and corrosion resistant, easy to clean, and ensures foods and liquids will not spill or leak out. For caster maintenance, Cambro recommends greasing the swivels and using a light oil, such as WD-40, on the hubs each time the bin is washed.
