Squeegee
Squeegees are sold as individual heads or, in some cases, as complete units with attached handles. Designs vary slightly depending on whether the unit is designed for windows or floors, though all accomplish the same basic task of drying wet surfaces.
A squeegee simplifies and speeds up cleaning in foodservice venues, office settings, and other commercial operations. Though the general design and function remain the same among across commercial squeegees, there are key differences depending on the surface the squeegee is designed to clean. Window squeegees are designed to facilitate streak-free drying, feature one or two rubber blades, and are generally less than 12 inches long. Floor squeegees are designed to direct water into drains after cleaning, so these typically have blades measuring around 20 to 24 inches in length.
Squeegees come in a wide range of colors, enabling operators to color code the heads based on whether they're designed for floor or window usage. Some heads are dual sided with a cleaning sponge on one side and a drying blade on the other. Straight-sided squeegees are well-suited for moving large amounts of water, while curved blades offer more precise control and are best for directing water towards floor drains. Purchasing individual squeegee heads enables users to seamlessly switch them out as needed, allowing for full customization.
