Santoku Knife

The santoku knife was developed in Japan by cutlery makers looking to blend the best of Eastern and Western style cutlery. The resulting pattern is one that pays careful attention to the balance between the weight of the handle and the weight of the blade to provide chefs with comfort and control. Its name means "three virtues", alluding to the three tasks that the knife is designed to perform: slicing, dicing, and mincing a number of different products.
