Pallet covers are clear sheets secured over shrink-wrapped pallets to preserve the integrity of your product during transit. They can prevent shipments from being damaged by water, exposed to dust, or shifted around while they are loaded and unloaded.

Plastic Pallet Covers: What You Need to Know

Pallet top sheets protect your shipment in several ways:

  • Prevent dust and debris from contaminating the shipment
  • Keep shipment stable during transit
  • Protect shipment from weather damage

Pre-sized covers fit standard pallet sizes without additional equipment or labor, and even one pallet's worth of equipment protected from damage can outweigh the cost of years of pallet covers, depending on what you're shipping. Our selection of pallet sheets covers multiple sheet sizes and gauges of plastic, so operators can find the exact solution they need.

Pallet covers settle over shrink-wrapped pallets and protect them from water damage, dust, and debris while also keeping the shipment still during long truck rides to its destination. If you find yourself paying to replace items damaged during shipment, consider pallet covers as an inexpensive way to improve your shipping process.

Common Questions About Pallet Covers

How do pallet top covers protect my products?

Pallet sheets are heavy-duty plastic coverings that provide a barrier between your product and the external factors that can damage it. Pallet sheets do not secure your shipment the way shrink wrapping does, and you should not use a pallet top sheet as a replacement for proper restraints. Instead, plastic pallet covers serve as additional protection on top of what you're already using and prevent damage in the event your products have to be unloaded during bad weather or are exposed to excessive dust or debris. These covers do provide some measure of additional stability for your pallet during shipping, but they are not sufficient on their own.

What materials are pallet covers made of?

Most of our pallet covers are made of low-density polyethylene plastic, a light yet durable plastic that will protect your shipment from water, dust, and debris. We carry covers in both 1-mil and 1.25-mil thickness – with the former being lighter, while the latter is more durable. Polyethylene is water resistant, sturdy, and transparent, making it the perfect material for covering pallets.

Will these pallet top sheets fit my pallets?

We carry 60-inch by 60-inch and 75-inch by 75-inch pallet sheets, which will fit most standard pallet sizes. If you want more coverage than just the top portion of your shipment, consider opting for the larger sheets as the extra length and width will extend the sheet further down the sides of your shipment. On the other hand, if your shipments are shrink wrapped completely around the sides, you'll only need to protect the very top and can save a bit of money by getting the smaller sheets.

Do these plastic pallet covers attach to the shipment?

These covers do not have any adhesives or other attachments that will secure them to the shipment, but for most applications this won't be necessary. However, if you find your covering sheet won't stay in place with gravity alone, consider taping it to the shrink wrap or using elastic bands to secure the sheet to the shipment.
