Coffee Lid Dispensers: What You Need to Know

A sanitary solution for the distribution of lids, lid dispensers help keep foodservice operations clean and prevent patrons from hunting through stacks of lids for one that hasn't been touched. During this process, customers come into contact with other lids they won't use, reducing the amount of sanitary product and costing you money. Coffee lid dispensers are designed to deliver clean, untouched lids to every customer, and the reduction of rejected lids means less labor for employees.

Coffee cup lid dispensers are convenient to use, simplifying restocking and enhancing organization. Many of these units can hold lids of various sizes, and some can be field converted from their factory calibration to accommodate different lid types. Plastic lid dispensers will improve the aesthetics of your establishment's presentation, helping beverage business expand. Because lid dispensers reduce overall lid use, fewer lids are wasted and savings increase. Coffee lid dispensers are sanitary staples of quick-service operations.

Common Questions About Lid Dispensers

How do you install an in-counter coffee lid dispenser?

If your cabinet doesn't already have a tube hole for the coffee cup lid dispenser, you can cut out a hole and drill four mounting screw pilot holes using the template supplied by the manufacturer. To remove the bezel, open the door and push the sides of the housing to clear the snaps, and then pull the bezel forward. Tilt it downward so that it flexes around the open door's edge. Remove the bevel, and then mount the plastic lid dispenser into the cabinet with four No. 8 flat head wood screws. Finish by replacing the bevel. While these instructions are applicable for most in-counter lid dispensers, you should check the manufacturers' directions for your specific model's instructions if these don't work for you.

How do you load an in-counter coffee cup lid dispenser?

Before loading lids, make sure they match the manufacturer and equipment lid number – you can find the information on the lid plate's label. Next, pull the door open past 90 degrees. Pushing the button on the side of the housing will enable the door to stay open for simple loading. To release lids that may have been pressed together during packaging, separate the lids before loading. Then load the lids, making sure to load them with the front of the lid stack facing forward. If you're dispensing tabbed lids, align the tabs up or down to avoid interference with lid claws. The door will automatically close if you pull it open past 90 degrees and then release it.

How do you clean an in-counter plastic lid dispenser?

In-counter lid dispensers should be cleaned regularly. Remove all the lids and the bezel before cleaning. Use a cotton cloth and warm, soapy water to wipe the interior and exterior, and be sure to saturate each pager assembly with this water several times. To verify the flippers operate freely, flex the flipper portion of the pager. Pushing the piston to the back of the tube will expose the bottom and enable you to clean all sections of the equipment.
