Commonly Asked Questions about Kool-It
What type of refrigeration does Kool-It use?
Most Kool-It refrigeration units use forced air refrigeration, which means cool air is circulated around the refrigerated area. The cool air wicks heat away from the food and is recirculated through the cooling apparatus while heat is dispersed away from the refrigerator. Your machine will need to vent the heated air somewhere, so make sure your planned spot won't block ventilation.
How do I choose a merchandiser?
First determine how much available space you have and record the dimensions. Bakery cases are typically around four feet high, enabling business to be conducted over the display area, while traditional merchandisers for cold drinks can be significantly taller, but narrow. Next, determine how much space you'll need to display your range of products. If you only offer four amazing sandwiches, you won't need eight rows in your merchandiser (unless you simply want extra storage with easy access). On the other hand, presenting more options provides more sales opportunities. If customers can see an item that appeals to them, they're more likely to purchase. Try to find a balance between cost and merchandising space.
Are bakery display cases refrigerated?
Not all bakery display cases are refrigerated, but most of Kool-It's models are. Refrigerated bakery display cases keep your products fresh longer, alleviating the need to frequently refresh the display. Self-contained bakery display cases like Kool-It's also protect your goods from pests and environmental contaminants.
What type of outlet do I need for a Kool-It Merchandiser?
Most Kool-It merchandisers use standard 120v outlets. Installing these machines is simple, as they don't need special outlets, but we do recommend letting all refrigerators sit on a level surface for twenty-four hours to let their liquid refrigerant settle before plugging them in. The liquids can become unsettled during transit and may cause issues if the refrigerator isn't allowed adequate time to resettle.
What's the difference between sandwich and pizza prep tables?
Kool-It refrigeration offers two styles of prep table - salad/sandwich units and pizza units. Salad/sandwich prep tables have a short cutting board prep area, suitable for single bowls, sandwiches, or tacos, while pizza prep tables have wider cutting boards to accommodate entire pizzas. Salad/sandwich units will have more space for ingredients, while pizza prep units have more cutting board preparation room. Specific storage space varies depending on the model, but consider the size of the product you'll be preparing to ensure you'll have enough space.
