Fryer & Candy Thermometer

Fryer and candy thermometers are capable of measuring those especially high temperatures associated with deep frying and candy making. Sugar is heated to between 200 and 400 degrees Fahrenheit to make candy, so that's the general range that most candy thermometers will display on their dials. Similarly, optimal deep frying is done at temperatures around 350 degrees F, so a deep fryer thermometer will also have that range. In fact, the two are often used interchangeably. You may prefer the simplicity of a manual dial, but a digital deep fry thermometer gives a quicker reading and greater precision.
