Common Questions About Fisher Manufacturing
Why should I choose Fisher commercial faucets?
Fisher Manufacturing has been making commercial plumbing systems since 1936, so when you install a Fisher faucet, you know you're getting a reliable piece. All their chrome-plated pieces are actually three layers of metal – copper, then nickel, and then chrome – for maximum durability. Fisher tests all its products rigorously, at its in-house testing facility and in extreme field situations, so every product that leaves the warehouse is proven to perform.
Fisher Manufacturing is committed to environmental sustainability through several initiatives, including packaging reduction, open land, and effective recycling. Fisher recycles all water used to test its faucets and almost all its brass comes from recycled sources. Some Fisher commercial faucets are designed to produce the same results with less water, such as its Ultra Spray™ Pre-rinse Spray Valve, offering a plethora of reasons to choose a Fisher faucet.
What is the difference between splash- and wall-mounted faucets?
Splash-mounted faucets attach directly to the sink they will be serving, while wall-mounted faucets are mounted into the wall, as their name suggests. Splash-mounted faucets – also known as deck-mounted faucets – are typically smaller and do not require as much installation effort. Because they're smaller, they don't need the same strength wall-mounted faucets do. However, splash-mounted faucets occupy more space between the sink basin and the wall, which may be less than ideal in a cramped kitchen.
Most wall-mounted faucets are large, heavy-spray or pre-rinse units, built to knock food debris off plates before they are washed in the next compartment. Because pre-rinse faucets have very long spouts, the torque generated would either bend the metal of, or rip up, a splash-mount configuration. Verify that whichever type of Fisher faucet you purchase, you have the appropriate installation space.
What Fisher faucet replacement parts are available?
We carry a range of Fisher faucet replacement parts, as well as some accessories that can increase the utility of your faucet. For some types of faucet, such as the glass filler, the replacement pieces come as a complete repair kit, ensuring you get all the parts you might need to get your faucet working again for a fraction of the price of a replacement. Additionally, Fisher Manufacturing sells replacement handles and valves for pre-rinses, brass elbows, and hose adapters to give you more options when installing or repairing your faucet.
What do the different measurements mean?
When looking at a splash-mounted faucet, the measurement marked "centers" denotes how far apart the holes for water lines will be. Whatever splash you're using should already have holes prepared for a faucet, and the easiest solution is to get a splash-mount faucet that matches the distance on your splash. This ensures you don't need any more equipment than what is provided with the faucet to get everything set up.
Do I need a pre-rinse faucet?
Pre-rinses are designed for use in a standard three- or four-compartment sink setup. They provide a powerful spray of water to remove food debris from plates before the plates are hand washed and sanitized in separate compartments. If you won't be using a strong water spray as part of your dishwashing process, you won't need a pre-rinse, but if you are, a standard gooseneck faucet will significantly slow down washing.
