Fiberglass Trays

Commonly used in cafeterias, institutions, and food courts, fiberglass trays let customers transport food from the serving area to the dining area. Fiberglass is a sturdy, break-resistant material intended to last many years, meaning it's more cost-effective than its cheaper counterparts over the life of the product. More

Fiberglass Cafeteria Trays: What You Need to Know

KaTom carries a variety of fiberglass trays in dozens of colors, so every operation can find a set that fits their existing aesthetic. Features include slip-resistant surfaces to keep dishes in place during transit, chip- and shatter-resistant edges to increase product lifespan, and stain- and odor-resistant finishes to minimize necessary maintenance.

Common Questions About Fiberglass Trays

Why should I get a fiberglass cafeteria tray?

Impact-resistant fiberglass withstands the battering that comes with everyday commercial use, as it's stiff enough that it won't bend when piled high with food, preventing spills, wasted food, and irate, sauce-covered customers. Many fiberglass models are also safe in high-heat dishwashers to save your operation significant labor time that would otherwise be spent hand washing trays. Fiberglass also resists breakage to save money over time.

Do fiberglass cafeteria trays have slip-resistant surfaces?

Many of our trays come with some form of slip-resistant surface, ensuring plates and cups don't slide around while a guest tries to take their seat. Not all trays include friction coating, though, so check the product specification sheet to determine if the tray you want has a nonslip coating. For those that don't, we carry tray mats that can be installed into the well of each tray.

What other features should I consider?

We offer a wide variety of colors, from reserved grays, browns, and blacks to vibrant yellows and blues – consider the existing aesthetic of your operation before adding new color palettes. We can't guarantee the trays match the exact color shown on your screen because the display color will change slightly based on your computer or phone settings.

Chip- and crack-resistant edges increase the longevity of your fiberglass trays, which will be dropped, banged into door frames, and otherwise damaged during the course of service. Fiberglass is a tough material but not invincible, so specially designed edges help resist inevitable damage.
