Drinking Water Fountains
Drinking water fountains provide clean, healthy hydration to your guests and employees without needing much attention. Rather than replacing water cooler jugs and cups, a commercial water fountain is always ready to use and does not create waste like paper or plastic cups would.
Water Fountains: What You Need to Know
Drinking water fountains are ubiquitous throughout school hallways, medical waiting rooms, and office buildings, providing clean, safe drinking water. Water fountains come in a wide variety of styles and functionality, including filtered and unfiltered options. Whichever style you choose, commercial water fountains are made to keep up with high-volume use inherent to a commercial or educational setting.
Everyone knows it's important to stay hydrated but adding a convenient drinking water fountain can make staying hydrated significantly easier. By offering water at a common location, everyone has a chance to refresh themselves before continuing their day. With indoor, outdoor, in-wall, on-wall, and floor-standing options available, every operator should be able to find a commercial water fountain that fits their floor plan.
Common Questions About Drinking Water Fountains
What types of drinking water fountains are available?
We carry a wide variety of drinking water fountains to fit all manner of commercial spaces. While most of our water fountains are for indoor use, we do have outdoor options made to withstand punishment from the elements. Outdoor commercial water fountains mostly are made of tough, corrosion-resistant stainless steel, which lasts a lot longer than plastic or aluminum. The decision between indoor and outdoor is fairly easy to make – if you will be putting the unit outdoors, an outdoor unit will be a much better investment because it will last significantly longer. If your water fountain won't be exposed to the elements, you can save money by getting an indoor unit.
For indoor options, we have floor-standing, in-wall, and on-wall units. Floor-standing units do not need to be mounted on a wall and can stand on their own. You still must have water hookups for the unit, which can be hard to do without a nearby wall, but floor-standing water fountains enable you to install one without interfering with the structure of the wall. Wall-mounted drinking water fountains are the most common and feature in-wall or on-wall constructions. In-wall fountains have the machinery hidden within the wall, which presents a cleaner aesthetic, while on-wall units are easier to install and don't require as much change in the construction of the wall.
Is drinking fountain water the same as tap water?
It depends on which type of commercial water fountain you choose. We carry options that have a built-in filter and options that do not. If there is no filtration system on your water fountain, it distributes the same water that would come out of a tap. Choosing a drinking water fountain with a filtration system can yield water that's free of contaminants without the unpleasant taste tap water sometimes has. If you want to install a water fountain to replace unpleasant tap water, you should definitely choose a model with a filter. Drinking water fountains with filters require slightly more maintenance, though, as you'll have to replace the filter when it is used up.
