Chilled Food Pan
A chilled food pan is designed to maintain safe, appealing temperatures when cold food is held in areas such as salad bars or prep stations. Many of these pans are built with refrigerant gel inside the container's walls to keep food chilled for hours at a time.
Find cold food pans capable of keeping perishable foods at the proper temperature until they reach the customer's plate. Models are available from full to sixth sizes to suit any cold bar or prep table arrangement. While some models include a chiller plate insert, many are designed to be stored in a freezer prior to use, as the included insulation or refrigerant gel retains cold temperatures for several hours following removal from the freezer and insertion into a bar or table. Some models of chilled food pan include color-change features, visually signaling when the pan is no longer at the proper temperature.
Most chilled food pans are made of durable ABS plastic or melamine, so they're typically safe to run through the dishwasher after cleaning. The most common shape is rectangular – designed to fit typical food pan wells – but some round bins, ice cream servers, and whipped cream can chillers are available to fit specialized needs.
