Chafer Boxes & Storage
Caterers and other professional foodservice operations use chafer boxes to keep chafing equipment safe while it's being stored and transported. Chafer storage boxes are often made to be compatible with a specific type of chafer or with one or more models.
Proper chafer storage can protect your equipment from dings, dents, and other damages often incurred during storage and transportation. Chafer boxes are designed to safely contain chafers, lids, and other components so they can be moved between locations or placed into storage after an event.
Chafer boxes are constructed of durable plastic, such as polyethylene or polypropylene, and most include molded-in side handles to make them easier to pick up, carry, and move. Purchasing multiple chafing dish boxes that can be stacked on top of each other can optimize an operation's chafer storage options, as several boxes can be stored in one place without requiring any shelving units. Some of these chafing dish containers are even collapsible for compact storage when they're not being used.
Keep in mind that stackable boxes are often tapered, meaning the unit's largest dimension – the top of the box – may not reflect the actual dimensions of which chafers can be stored. If chafer boxes are meant to be used with specific chafer models or certain product lines, this information usually can be found in a product's specifications or its details section.
