Cappuccino & Espresso Cups
Tiny espresso cups, sometimes called "demitasse" cups for the French for "half cup", have capacities ranging from 2 to 4 ounces, roughly half that of a traditional coffee mug. They're commonly paired with a saucer, so often an espresso cup set will include several of both pieces. Even more popular than individual espresso shots are the drink made by adding it to foamed or steamed milk, so special drinkware has developed to serve those. Cappuccino cups resemble oversized coffee mugs and are used to serve their namesake beverage in 6 to 13 ounces portions. Tall, tapered mugs, sometimes called latte mugs, are popular for serving jumbo-sized drinks.
