This keypad retains one 3- to 8-digit PIN code, and if an incorrect PIN is entered too many times in a short period, the unit rescinds into a temporary lock-out mode that sounds an alarm for one minute and deactivates the keypad for two minutes. For additional security, users can activate the vibration alarm system that detects if the safe is being moved. To access the safe discreetly, users can activate the silent-access mode, which eliminates the beeps that sound as PIN numbers are entered. This system operates with four AA batteries, and while a low-battery warning alerts users if batteries are in need of replacement, it includes a set of two emergency backup keys for when batteries are fully depleted.
