The Town 42617 skimmer's coarse mesh has large holes, which is ideal for blanching—a cooking method in which food is placed in boiling water for a short time and then moved to an ice bath. This skimmer's head measures 6 inches in diameter and is made of dent-resistant galvanized steel. Made of bamboo, the handle is comfortable to grip and stays cool to the touch.
