A tight 4 quarts
This was a clearance item, so not sure they will be carrying it again - but here goes. It's a good, sturdy container, but if you truly want to use it for a full 4 quarts, you will have a scant 1/3" of clearance at the top and if you use a lid, the lid will be resting on any liquids or solids. In short, not much room if you need it for 4 quarts of anything.
