To prevent it from breaking if it's dropped, it's made of durable melamine. For use in a high-heat dishwasher, this plate withstands temperatures as high as 212 degrees Fahrenheit. It's designed to not draw cold or heat away from the food placed on it, and it's white to blend in with preexisting dinnerware.
