Scotsman HID312AX-1 Description
The Scotsman HID312AX-1 Meridian™ ice and water dispenser produces up to 260 pounds of H2 nugget ice per 24 hours while storing 12 pounds of ice in an integrated bin for countertop beverage service. The unit's TouchFree® infrared dispensing provides hands-free access to ice and water, while SmoothStream™ water dispensing delivers a steady flow for filling cups. A removable bin, spouts, sink, and air filter simplify cleaning, and the included AquaPatrol™ Plus water filtration system helps improve water quality for nugget ice production.
Built with a stainless steel exterior, the Scotsman HID312AX-1 ice and water dispenser features a stainless steel evaporator and auger, sealed maintenance-free bearings, and AgION™ antimicrobial protection molded into key components to help inhibit the growth of microbes. An enlarged dispensing area and oversized sink drain accommodate a variety of serving vessels, while a recessed utility chase supports countertop installation. LED diagnostic lights, a USB software upgrade port, and a unit-specific QR code streamline service and maintenance throughout daily operation.

Review this product!
Sensors are too strong which allows Ice to drop everywhere.
Product provides water and ice just fine, however in an office setting you must use a wide mouthed cup or ice goes everywhere because the sensors are too sensitive. If you don't have large enough cups I would recommend the push button not the sensor.
We appreciate you pointing this out. It's good to hear the unit is producing water and ice properly, but we understand how frustrating it can be if the sensor feels overly sensitive in an office setting. Your note about using wider cups or opting for the push-button model is helpful insight for others considering this unit!
The ice is great. The IR sensor for the ice is sporadic.
The water portion of the machine is seamless. The water comes on and stays on until you remove your cup away from the sensor. The ice portion is hit or miss. I don't know if there is a bad sensor or not but it is frustrating to use the ice dispensing side of the unit.
We have excellent results with these
We have several Scotsman HID312A-1 ice machines in our hospital. We have much less repair calls than the Folletts or Manitowoc machines that we also have(but not for long)

Junk! The auto sensor ones never work right
Should be 0 stars! Poor design idea. They installed these at my hospital and NEVER work good. The auto sensors are hard for people to trigger and cause madness! Then when it finally does dispense 1/2 the water and ice ends up on the floor! Terrible idea, everyone wants the old one back!!!!
