Commercial Dishwashers
Commercial dishwashers are a must in most food service and hospitality industries around the world. In order to keep your business running, you need clean plates, utensils, and cups, all of which need to be done quickly. In most businesses, doing this job manually is out of the question, so a dependable dishwasher is the logical solution to this dilemma. Dishwashers come in varying shapes and sizes to meet the needs of your specific business. Commercial dishwashers must be extremely efficient and reliable, since they will have to stand up to repeated, heavy-duty use. Commercial dishwashers can wash an entire rack of plates, glasses, or utensils in just minutes because of the powerful pump. In businesses, dishwashers must not only clean but also sterilize what they are washing. Most dishwashers heat to degrees well over 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Other models who do not heat to such degrees use a chlorine additive to meet health and safety standards for the repeated use of dishes and other supplies.
Types of Commercial Dishwashers
Commercial dishwashers come in four different types, door type dishwasher, conveyor, flight type, or undercounter models. Door type dishwashers have a door that slides up or down to allow easy access to the contents of the dishwasher.
A conveyor dishwasher makes dishwashing slightly easier by allowing you to place a rack of washables onto an automatic conveyor. Dishes are then moved into the washing area and moved out when washing is completed.
Flight type dishwashers are a type of conveyor dishwasher. Flight type dishwashers take dishes/washables up into different "zones" of the dishwasher to allow different temperatures and types of washing to occur.
Undercounter dishwashers can fit comfortable under an existing counter. These units have doors that fold down to make the most of your available space. Undercounter dishwashers are ideal for any small business or business that does not have a lot of extra room in their commercial kitchen.
There are numerous additional items to go along with our dishwashers, such as dish pans, that are available.
Number of Racks a Dishwasher Can Wash Per Hour
Different types of dishwashers are capable of washing varying numbers of racks per hour. The specific dishwasher you purchase should be able to wash as many racks as needed for your business. Smaller businesses would not need as large of a dishwasher as a high, volume large scale business would. Door type dishwashers are capable of washing either 24, 37, 52, 55, or 60 racks per hour.
Conveyor type dishwashers can wash either 126, 230, or 277 racks per hour.
Undercounter dishwashers are capable of washing 21, 24, or 30 racks per hour.
Commercial Dishwasher Dimensions
Commercial dishwashers have several different dimensions to choose from, depending on the specific make and model you choose. Door type dishwashers have dimensions ranging from 54 1/2" H x 25 3/4" W x 24" D up to 81 1/4" H x 30" W x 26 1/8" D.
Conveyor style dishwashers range in size from 67 3/8" H x 43 1/2" W x 31 1/4" D up to 96" H x 60" W x 33" D.
Undercounter refrigerators are available in petite sizes ranging from 33" H x 23 3/4" W x 33 1/2" D up to 33 3/4" H x 24" W x 40 1/2" D.
Commercial Dishwasher Temperatures
Commercial dishwashers can wash an entire rack of plates, glasses, or utensils in just minutes because of the powerful pump. In businesses, dishwashers must not only clean but also sterilize what they are washing. High temp dishwashers heat to degrees well over 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Other models, low temp dishwasher, who do not heat to such degrees use a chlorine additive to meet health and safety standards for the repeated use of dishes and other supplies.
Does the Dishwasher Have a Built-In Booster?
Commercial dishwashers can either be purchased with or without a built-in booster heater. Dishwashers with a built-in booster heater quickly heat water to high temperatures to sanitize dishes to meet all safety standard requirements. Units that do not have a built-in booster heater for sanitizing purposes typically use chlorine to clean dishes and other washables to meet safety standards.
Commercial Dishwasher Specialty Options
Dishwashers can be purchased with three types of specialty features, a prewash feature, a built-in scraper, or a glass washer feature. Commercial dishwashers with a prewash feature uses a "presoak" approach to help loosen tough, stuck on messes on dishes, pans, and other washables.
Built-in scrapers use a scraper to get tough, stuck on messes off of plates and other washables.
Glass washers effectively and safely wash all glassware, removing both regular use particles and stuck on messes.
