What Type of Coffee Maker Do I Need?

Commercial coffee makers can be purchased in four different varieties: Decanter brewers, thermal/airpot brewers, satellite coffee makers, and pod coffee makers.  Each of these units are perfect for a specific type of application, please read on to see which is right you. 

Decanter coffee makers offer serving flexibility by allowing you to either serve customers or let them serve themselves in a home, office or restaurant settings.  Bunn's decanter brewers will deliver the right amount of coffee for your businesses needs with an abundance of choices in the number of decanters, warmers and even brewers.  Decanter coffee brewers allow you to serve great tasting coffee in a traditional yet classy style.

Thermal/airpot coffee brewers are ideal for settings such as specialty coffee shops, breakfast bars, and meeting rooms.  These brewers offer easy accessibility with their easy-to-transport airpots which allow the coffee to be served and stored away from the brewer.  These units can be placed on airpot racks to display up to six varieties of coffee, allowing numerous choices for your customers, while the airpots keep coffee hot and delicious for hours. 

Satellite coffee systems are frequently used in cafeterias, meeting rooms, or other various quick serve settings to deliver hot, fresh coffee.  Satellite coffee systems brew the coffee, which can then be poured into your container of choice with simply the pull of a handle.  These units consistently offer fresh coffee with each pull.

Pod coffee brewers allow you to brew a single, perfect cup of coffee.  These brewers are perfect for small offices or offices that have few coffee drinkers.  These units offer portability and convenience while maintaining high quality coffee standards.

Automatic or Pourover Coffee Makers

Commercial coffee makers can have two types of water dispensing, either pourover or automatic.  Pourover style coffee makers allow you to simply open up the brewer unit and pour water into the appropriate compartment from another container, allowing you to make as little or as much coffee at a time as you choose.  Automatic coffee brewers can be hooked directly to a water source to allow for automatic water flow to the correct compartment, minimizing the need to stay near the coffee brewer.

Coffee Maker Specialty Options

Bunn commercial coffee makers are available with three specialty options to choose from.  Digital brewers have digital controls that can be set to brew coffee automatically at a given time, saving time and energy by presetting these functions to be performed without manually having to go to the brewer with each use.  Coffee makers with both upper and lower warmers can hold and keep hot numerous decanters, allowing you to serve and prepare numerous pots and multiple varieties of coffee.

Twin brewers offer even more versatility, combining two brewers into one coffee maker so that two pots of coffee can be brewed simultaneously.

Brewing Capacity:  How Much Coffee Do I Need to Make?

Bunn coffee makers are available with 1-5 warmers to keep as little or much coffee fresh and ready to serve as your business needs.  Smaller businesses should lean towards automatic or pourover coffee makers with less warmers, while large, high volume businesses might need a coffee maker with a larger number of warmers or even a high volume coffee system.

All four different types of coffee makers have different brewing capacities to allow you to choose the perfect coffee maker to meet the needs of your specific business.  Decanter coffee makers are capable of producing from 2.9-15 gallons of coffee each hour.  Thermal/airpot coffee brewers can produce from 3.8-15 gallons per hour.  Satellite coffee systems can create from 3.8-18.9 gallons of coffee each hour, while pod coffee brewers can produce up to 60 eight ounce cups every hour.

Hot Water Faucets for Coffee Makers

Bunn coffee makers can be purchased with or without a hot water faucet.  Units with a faucet generally have a red spout on the front of the unit for hot water dispensing.  This is especially handy for quick cups of tea for customers or employees who dislike coffee.

Does a Cord Come Attached to Commercial Coffee Makers?

Commercial coffee makers are available with or without an attached power cord.  Units with an attached cord offer the convenience of plugging the unit in anywhere that a plug in is available.  Units without an attached cord can be placed nearly anywhere, offering convenience and flexibility of placement.

Funnels, Finishes, and Upper & Lower Warmers

Bunn's commercial coffee makers are available with either a stainless steel or plastic funnel and have black or stainless steel finishes.  Upper and lower warmers are available, depending on the number of decanter and warmers you will need.

Bunn coffee brewers are available in various sizes to be able to fit in nearly any space available in your business.  Decanter coffee brewers are available with dimensions ranging from 14.7" H x 6.7" W x 12.9" D up to 23.5" H x 24" W x 18.5" D. 

Thermal/airpot coffee makers range in size from 7.9" H x 9" W x 18.5" D to 34.4" H x 20.10" W x 22.60" D. 

Satellite coffee systems have dimensions from 29.3" H x 9.25" W x 19" D up to 35.8" H x 18" W x 21.2" D.

Pod coffee brewers vary slightly in size from 12.4" H x 7.75" W x 10.6" D up to 12.4" H x 7.75" W x 11.1" D.
