About Lodge

Joseph LodgeThe Lodge Mfg. company was founded in 1896 in the small town of South Pittsburg, Tennessee when Joseph Lodge began creating this amazing cast iron cookware. This cookware first came into production during the first presidential term of William McKinley and is now the oldest family-owned cookware foundry in America. As a testament to the durability of these products, some of the first cast iron skillets, griddles, and dutch ovens are still being used today by fourth generation cooks, even though they are well over 100 years old!

Today, Lodge Mfg. still remains a family-owned and operated business that produces some of the highest-quality cast iron products in the industry. Lodge has expanded their product line over the years to include all types of cookware for today's kitchen, such as dutch ovens, skillets, deep fryers, country kettles, and much more.

As Lodge continues to progress through their second century of business, they have began to import two lines of enamel coated cast iron cookware from China. Although these pieces are imported, they meet the strict standards set up by the Lodge family and have even earned acclamations from Good Housekeeping and Fine Cooking magazines.  Click here to see what Lodge has to say about their continued product quality.

For more than 112 years, Lodge has been producing quality, long-lasting cookware that cannot be rivaled with even the most expensive stainless steel or aluminum cookware. Lodge cast-iron cookware provides a delicious, attractive food product every time it is used. Each piece of Lodge can end up lasting a lifetime, and even beyond.

Lodge is Going Green!

Storm Water Settling PondsLodge realizes the importance of helping to keep the environment a clean, safe place for future generations. The company is taking steps to become an eco-friendly leader in the industry. In 1991, Lodge replaced the cupola melting system with an environmentally friendly melting system, taking them from a Large Quantity Generator of Hazardous Waste to a Small Quantity Generator. Then in 1994, Lodge received the Governor's Award for Excellence in Hazardous Waste Reduction.

Recycling is also a major issue to the Lodge company. They began recycling by allowing other companies to pick up cardboard. Their efforts were noticed in 2001, when 34.5 tons of cardboard were recycled. 48.1 tons of cardboard were recycled in 2005, and that project continues to grow yearly.

In an effort to improve water quality, Lodge created three storm water settling ponds to support plant and animal life near the stream that flows from the South Pittsburg Mountain through the Lodge foundry and into the Lake Guntersville Reservoir Watershed. Water quality in this area now exceeds requirements.

Lodge also believes strongly in improving air quality and beautification. The company has planted 121 tress on the campus to help create a cleaner surrounding environment. The 1.4 acres of trees surrounding the plant is equivalent to removing one vehicle from the highway.

Lodge Products

Lodge Logic

Lodge Logic SkilletThe Lodge Logic series keeps the "old-fashioned" traditional look of cast-iron cookware. These units feature straight sides and cast-iron handles. As any good cook knows, cast-iron cookware is never at its best until it has been "seasoned" for use. The Logic series utilizes a vegetable oil electrostatic spray system that uses a high temperature gas oven to actually season the cast iron before it ever leaves the factory. This seasoning method offers superior quality cookware with a look and performance that eliminates the need to home season your cookware. Logic series cast iron is ready to use right out of the box!

Lodge Pro Logic

Lodge Pro Logic WokThe Lodge Pro Logic series is a slightly more up-to-date version of the Logic series.
