Vulcan 960RX Description
For durability against exposure to grease and salt, the Vulcan 960RX countertop gas griddle’s front, sides, and front top ledge are stainless steel. To add support and prevent sagging, it’s designed with a sturdy welded chassis frame made of stainless and aluminized steel. Withstanding frequent temperature changes without cracking or warping, the griddle’s plate is made of 1-inch-thick polished steel. The unit can be set to temperatures between 200 to 550 degrees Fahrenheit and has five individual burners to create separate cook zones.
Blocking hot grease from adjacent walls and counters, the Vulcan 960RX countertop griddle has a 4-inch rear splash that wraps around the unit into tapered side splashes. If the pilot light is extinguished, the griddle’s pilot light safety valve interrupts the flow of gas to prevent leaks. Directing hot grease runoff into the unit’s two grease drawers, its chute and gutter are fully welded, and each drawer can store as much as 6 quarts of grease to extend time between cleanings. To fit most spatulas, the griddle’s gutter measures 3 1⁄2 inches wide.
