The Hoshizaki KM-650MAJ ice machine head can produce between 562 and 630 pounds of crescent cube ice in 24 hours, though the exact amount depends on the ambient air and water temperatures. The machine's CycleSaver design freezes water on the two-sided evaporator to produce as much ice as competing models in fewer cycles. To slow the growth of bacteria on ice-making components, the unit is integrated with an antimicrobial agent called H-Guard Plus™. Operators can rely on the EverCheck™ system to constantly check the internal components to make sure they are working properly. If an issue is detected, an audible alarm sounds to let operators know maintenance is required.

Constructed of stainless steel, the exterior is resistant to scratches, dents, and other minor damage. Exterior panels are removable, so the interior can be accessed for maintenance; the air filter is removable as well.
