Good value

Offset serrated knives are a little harder to find than I expected. I'm glad I found this one. I saw another review that said the knife broke when he dropped it. I think that was a fluke - that's what warranties are for I guess. With that in mind, I whacked it on the counter a few times on each side to test it. No break, no bend, no problem! The smoothly crafted handle with a full tang and bolster imitates nicely my $100 knives. I'd be happy with this knife if I had paid much more for it. (Don't tell the seller- they might jack up the price

Good for the money, but.....

For the price, this is a surprisingly handsome and heavy-duty bread knife that my wife and I have been reasonably happy with. Happy, that is, until it slipped out of my hand the other day while I was drying it, and snapped neatly in two when it hit the floor! I've since read that brittleness is one of the downsides of stainless blades, as is its tendency not to hold an edge as well as regular steel. All of which would be an acceptable trade-off for me it this knife were actually rust-proof (as opposed to rust-resistant), which it isn't, so it should only be hand washed, and then thoroughly dried (and preferably not dropped!) before it's put away, or you'll begin to see discoloration and rust spots. But at this remarkably low price none of those should really come as any surprise. I just think that next time we'll pay a little more for a better grade of steel, as I'd recommend you do.
