Vollrath 40794 Description
The plates on the Vollrath 40794 commercial panini press are made of cast iron, a material that is heavier than aluminum and more effectively grills sandwiches. These plates retain and distribute heat better than thin materials and—because they are ribbed—they impart grill marks onto food to enhance the product presentation. Ribbed plates are harder to clean than smooth ones, but brushes are included so users can remove food buildup efficiently. The top plate has a pivot-action design that accommodates different products. Operators can adjust the temperature using the thermostat, which has a maximum 550-degree Fahrenheit setting.
