Bobrick B-4998 Description
To prevent customers from slipping when gripping the Bobrick B-4998 swing-up grab bar, it's made of 1 1⁄4-inch-diameter stainless steel tubing and has a satin finish. For use in a bath, shower, or toilet stall, the bar can be raised and lowered manually, and when it's raised to the vertical position, it uses a counterweighted design to prevent it from falling into a horizontal position. When installed properly, it can accommodate as much as 500 pounds.

Swing up grab bar, 18 gauge type 304 stainless steel tubing with satin finish, 1-1/4" outside diameter. Ends are heliarc welded to flanges. Swing up grab bar is manually raised for approach or departure andlowered to horizontal position for support; once grab bar is raised more than 45 degrees from horizontal position, counterweighted design prevents grab bar from falling back down to full horizontal position.
