Common Questions About CPI Shine

What is CPI Shine?

Campus Products Inc. makes various automated dishware polishing and drying equipment for use in commercial foodservice establishments. These machines help operators get their cutlery and stemware cleaned, shined, and back out in service fast, without spending unnecessary time and manual labor. With a cutlery polisher that can handle 12,000 pieces of cutlery per hour and a stemware dryer/polisher than can polish 400 glasses an hour, these machines can save an operator significant labor costs and decrease the time necessary to get a table set and ready. In the right operation, these pieces can pay for themselves in saved labor costs and increased turnover in no time.

Which establishments need a cutlery dryer and polisher?

Almost any commercial foodservice establishment can benefit from CPI's cutlery polishers. However, fine dining establishments might reap more benefit from the machine than more casual places. Consider your customers' expectations while dining at your establishment. If you're charging a premium for your meals, your customers will expect the service to be spotless, while a casual establishment won't be as concerned about water spots left on silverware.

The second consideration will be one of volume. If your operation can clean and polish silverware by hand without losing any production (which usually means you have a relatively low volume), then you won't need a machine that can turn out thousands of pieces of polished silverware over the course of an hour. However, very high-volume establishments – such as convention centers or some catering companies – absolutely will need such a machine to ensure their silverware is clean and presentable in a timely manner.

How does the CPI stem shine work?

The CPI stem shine uses multiple brushes and a heated fan to polish and dry your stemware quickly. These brushes, which vary in number depending on the machine you're using, spin together rapidly, polishing the stemware placed in their midst. The heated fan blows warm air onto the glass as well, evaporating any remnants of moisture. This CPI glass polisher is quite useful for bars and establishments that serve lots of wine, as the spinning brushes can clean and polish all sides of a glass simultaneously, as opposed to one barkeep polishing each glass by hand. Resulting in fewer water spots and a clearer shine, the CPI glass polishers are also more thorough than quick hand polishing.

How does a cutlery polisher work?

These CPI shine machines have a wide intake slot for recently cleaned cutlery that brings the silverware into the machines internal components. Inside, the cutlery is vibrated along with premade granulate (a sand-like substance) that cleans away any remaining debris, stains, or water marks from the silverware. This granulate must be replaced as it is used up over time, but it does not cling to the silverware and will not show up on your tables. CPI polishers come equipped with a UVC germicidal lamp to sanitize your cutlery further, offering peace of mind to safety-conscious operators. After silverware is polished, the machine deposits the clean cutlery in a tray to be used again. This convenience ensures thoroughly polished cutlery and saves you money on labor costs over manual cleaning.
