Sauce Warmers: What You Need to Know

Hot fudge warmers, nacho cheese dispensers, and other types of condiment warmers can ensure your warm toppings are always served at the perfect temperature. Relying on other warming methods can lead to overly hot or unappetizingly cold sauces, which will ruin your customers' experience. These electric sauce warmers safely heat your condiments, keeping your fudge, cheese, and other sauces at a set temperature throughout the serving period.

We carry dispensers and sauce warmers for more than just heated condiments. You can find equipment to keep chili warm for hot dogs or fries, syrup warmers for a breakfast buffet, and self-serve equipment. Whatever type of sauces, toppings, or condiments you need to dispense, KaTom will help you do the job right.

Common Questions About Sauce Warmers

What toppings can these warming dispensers accommodate?

You can find a warmer here for everything from thick hot fudge to melted butter and dipping wells for chili. We have lighted food warmers that improve visibility or merchandise your products, depending on the version you choose. To determine if the dispenser you're looking at can handle the condiment or topping you have in mind, consider the width of the dispensing spout. If you're going to be using something with thick particles, such as a thick chili, you would be best served by an open-top dipper model instead of a pump-action spout.

Should I get a lighted dispenser?

A nacho cheese dispenser will bring in customers – unless they don't know it's there. Lighted dispensers bring more attention to your service and include merchandising signs for many of the potential sauces/toppings you might use. If the dispenser will be behind a counter, where only operators can interact with it, the light won't be beneficial. Lighted dispensers don't typically increase your electricity bill by a significant amount, especially when compared to the energy required to run a foodservice establishment, so if you're not sure whether you'll use the merchandising capability or not, having the extra light isn't going to break the bank.

Do I need gas or electric equipment?

Liquid propane sauce warmers are best for use with mobile foodservice establishments that have limited electricity access. But if you have convenient access, buying and refilling canisters of propane is an unnecessary hassle. However, if you will be running the warmers out of a food truck or concession stand, gas-powered units will enable you to sell nachos, candy apples, or other warm treats without needing an electrical outlet. Consult the product specification page before making a purchase to ensure you can supply the warmer with whatever power will be required.

What is a bag warmer?

A bag warmer has multiple shelves on which operators can store standard bags of nacho cheese, hot fudge, or caramel to keep them warm before placing them in a dispenser. Most dispensers use bags to keep the sauce sanitary before your customers consume it, as opposed to just filling up the metal container with sauce. Many dispensers are not NSF approved and thus will need sanitary bags to be food safe. If you go through sauce quickly, you'll need a warm bag to add to your hot fudge warmer rather than having to wait for your dispenser to heat the new sauce.
