Our Newest Star Deserves a Gold Medal for Performance on Parks and Recreation

Move over Beverly Hills; lately the best place to spot celebrities has been the KaTom warehouse, which has produced yet another screen star!

At the end of January, Bids Specialist Donny Oglesby got a call from the property master for the NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation. They needed a waffle maker for an upcoming episode and they needed it quick. Donny hooked them up with the Gold Medal 5021 Belgian Waffle Maker, KaTom shipped it out that day for next-day delivery, and the rest is history.

A star was born April 18 in the episode “Article Two.” Throughout that installment, the characters Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) and Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones) battle over that very waffle maker, which we learn was formerly used at the character’s favorite eatery, J.J.’s Diner. Both hope to give it to Ben’s wife and Ann’s best friend, the sentimental Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), for either Breakfast Day (Ann) or Waffle Day (Ben). SPOILER ALERT: In the end, they decide to share the gift and present it to Leslie together in the scene we’ve provided a screen capture of here. The episode (watch it here for yourself), like the series as a whole, is hilarious and we’re proud of our small contribution to it.
